What is BPM?
So what is Business Process Management? Is it software? An IT architectural construct? A Six Sigma, Kaizen or Lean type of activity? There are certainly many definitions of BPM floating around “out there” and there are definitions that point us at each of the possibilities pointed out here - along with many more.
That said, I (Terry Schurter) and Steve Towers took the effort to define BPM within our context (which starts 15 years ago). It’s what we call our “elevator BPM pitch” and I am sure some of you will find it very helpful.
