The Evolution of Process and the Certified Process Professional

How has process evolved and why is the Certified Process Professional designation so important? This overview presents a brief history of the evolution/ revolution that has lead us to the world of the Certified Process Professional.

Background

Bennu Group developed a series of training and learning resources in 2006 based around the work of world leading companies and captured in the book Customer Expectation Management – Success without Exception.

The work is the IP and copyright of Terry Schurter and Steve Towers. This initial series of training was mad available for a period of time (during 2006) as ‘Advanced BPM Training’ and was available through several channels.

The developing needs of the customer and latest learning from the leading corporations has moved this training forward and it is now available through the Certified Process Professional (CPP) qualification as both open classes, in-house training and online.

Several of the ground breaking techniques and approaches have also been incorporated into several software products, including Smartdraw CEMM. (Founded in 1994, SmartDraw.com is the creator of SmartDraw, the World’s Most Popular Business Graphics Software.)

The full CPP online training program was beta tested in 2007 and is currently being used by people in over 100 organizations across the globe.

Open classes are available in the US, Europe and the Middle East. In 2008 the program will extend further to the southern hemisphere.

Unique Vision and Value

The Certified Process Professional Program is completely unique in the methods and techniques it uses and the organizational value it creates.

This program explicitly addresses all of the key elements that determine the health and success of commercial organizations, just as it addresses mission fulfillment and capability in non-profit and governmental organizations.

The program builds the ability for organizations to explicitly identify and eliminate Causes of Work and process Points of Failure.

The program leads to actions that increase organizational agility while reducing process and systems complexity.

The program surfaces a broad sweep of process improvement opportunities that are rarely uncovered through conventional approaches.

At a macro level, this program explicitly builds behaviors that deliver the simultaneous benefits of Increased Revenues, Decreased Costs and Improved Customer Satisfaction.

The program also explicitly supports the 21st Century Value Chain by increasing organizational capability (ongoing) to deliver “Success without Exception” to customers.

The Innovation component of the program builds the ability in organizations to advance their value proposition to their customers – the setting of the Customer’s Expectation (Customer Expectation Management), which is the second component that drives organizational success under the 21st Century Value Chain.

The Process-Performance Landscape

Process Performance Landscape Organizations can be viewed as a hierarchy ultimately delivering value to the Customer.

This latest piece in the evolving business approach from Bennu Group is part of the overall business approach that is now being made available through a series of seminars sponsored by Bennu Group.

Details of those seminars can be found at www.HerculesX.com.

How Important is This?

While some people see process as one “check” on a long list of things that should be part of the work they do, the motivation behind the Certified Process Professional is far different. Current CPP’s find that the methods, technique and process approach learned in this program become a critical part of almost everything they do - as the leading activity that sets the stage for achieving desired success on everything else they do!

It is obvious to us that the growing interest, use and importance of our methods and techniques is becoming a center stage focus point for organizations intent upon building their ongoing success.

In person, in-house, online, and with software - Bennu Group is maximizing the opportunity for people to quickly and easily advance their personal and organizational skills in this critical area of skill for the 21st Century.
