Best in class processes won’t lead to success without the right strategic objectives. And yet creating strategic objectives has largely been the work of management teams often distant from the scene of real work, where the organization actually touches the customer, at the place where the products and services create the value that translates into revenue and profit. Creating the harmony is all about linking the SCO with literally everything and making explicit those links through our rewards systems, our behaviors and the way we approach the market. Establishing those links and continually tuning them creates the agility we need to succeed in an ever changing world where the only constant is in fact change itself.
Companies can develop the discipline and skills required to orchestrate this effort through a set of techniques, collectively known as ‘Customer Expectation Management’ and articulated within the CEM Method. CEMM is supported by a framework which integrates the disparate parts of business into one collective view visible to all. This view we have termed HerculesX and it is accessible as a program and set of software that operates with and alongside existing enterprise systems, dashboards, scoreboards and other performance management systems.
As a guidance system it may be implemented strategically, top down or locally bottom-up. It is easy to deploy and maintain and provides a line of sight never before available to management and the collective organization.
